About RHC -
Red, Hot and Cool featuring Nancy Wilson and a host of world class jazz artists is a landmark jazz series shot live at the historic Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The Red Hot & Cool video sessions were recorded in 1989 and 1990, and aired on television stations
worldwide. When word got out about the recordings, which took place on Sundays, one of the most difficult tasks was crowd control, supervised by the Fire Marshall! Everybody wanted to come to see and hear Nancy and the amazing guest artists. It was an electrifying atmosphere in the room, which was set up like a jazz nightclub. Each week, the enthusiastic audiences clapped and cheered wildly as each jazz legend performed. Imagine being upfront and close to the fabulous Nancy Wilson, Ahmad Jamal, Joe Williams, Stanley Turrentine, Lee Ritenhour, Freddie Hubbard, Dianne Schuur, David Benoit, Joe Sample, Lou Rawls, and more. Nancy Wilson and many of these wonderful artists are no longer with us, but their great music lives on with this classic Red Hot & Cool Jazz series.
There are 8 Red Hot & Cool volumes containing 3 different Red Hot & Cool programs with Nancy Wilson and 3 different “A List” jazz artists singing and playing their most famous songs.
